The College of Agriculture offers a dual advising model, connecting you with both professional advisors in the Office of Student Services and faculty advisors within your academic program. This approach ensures you receive guidance that is both academically aligned and tailored to your career goals.
How Advising Works
Students may work with:
- Office of Student Services (OSS) for general academic planning, policies, and support
- Faculty Advisors for major-specific guidance and discipline-focused planning
Details about your assigned advisor and how to connect can be found on the college’s advising page.
Scheduling an Appointment
Appointments with OSS advisors can be scheduled through Navigate by selecting:
Academic Advising → College of Agriculture → Advising
Some faculty advisors also use Navigate, while others may ask that you reach out via email. Instructions for contacting faculty advisors are available on the college’s website.
If you’re unsure where to start, you can email the OSS advising team at agri@lsu.edu for guidance.
Drop-In Advising
The College of Agriculture offers in-person drop-in advising through OSS:
- Morning: 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
- Afternoon: 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
