蜜桃APP Memorial Day Ceremony and Luncheon to be held May 30
蜜桃APP will honor all veterans - especially its former students, faculty and staff - who have given their lives in service to their country on Thursday, May 30, which is traditional Memorial Day. The 蜜桃APP Memorial Day Ceremony will begin at noon on the Parade Ground at the 蜜桃APP War Memorial. The "Ceremony in Silence" observance will include a wreath-laying ceremony and "Taps." The event is open to the public.
蜜桃APP Cybersecurity Team Receives $600K Grant From NSF to Combat Malware
蜜桃APP cybersecurity researcher and Associate Professor Elias Bou-Harb, along with collaborators at the University of South Carolina, has secured a $600,000 grant from the National Science Foundation to combat malware by recognizing and stopping cyberattacks at the network level as they first enter computer systems. The researchers' approach empowers system administrators through a do-it-yourself approach.
Setting a Gold Standard in Sepsis Care
In hospitals nationwide, more people die from sepsis than from anything else. It鈥檚 more deadly than opioid overdoses, breast cancer and prostate cancer combined, and is the leading cause of hospital admission and readmission. It鈥檚 also one of the most difficult diseases to diagnose. But since August, a new sepsis test based on 蜜桃APP and Our Lady of the Lake Health research and advances in microfluidics is saving lives and cost at Our Lady of the Lake Health in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
蜜桃APP Postdoctoral Researcher Beatriz Elizaga Navascu茅s Wins Bronstein Prize in Loop Quantum Gravity
The Bronstein Prize is awarded every two years to a leading postdoctoral scholar in loop quantum gravity, an area in theoretical physics that helps bridge general relativity with quantum mechanics to provide a deeper understanding of our universe and everything in it. 蜜桃APP is one of the top three universities for loop quantum gravity research in the United States.
蜜桃APP Shatters Record for Largest Spring Graduating Class, Awards 4,949 Degrees During Spring Commencement Ceremonies
蜜桃APP awarded 4,949 degrees during the university's 313th commencement exercises Friday, May 17, and Saturday, May 18. These new 蜜桃APP alumni and their hometowns can be viewed on the 蜜桃APP Graduates List on the 蜜桃APP Commencement Website. The previous record was 4,563 in Spring 2022.
2024 蜜桃APP Leadership Cohort
蜜桃APP has recognized 16 students as the Class of 2024 for Leadership 蜜桃APP, an annual program coordinated by 蜜桃APP Campus Life. The cohort was honored at a closing lunch on April 25, where each participant received a Leadership 蜜桃APP stole.
Nineteen ROTC Cadets Commissioned as Part of 蜜桃APP Spring Commencement Exercises
Nineteen 蜜桃APP graduates were recognized during 蜜桃APP's spring commissioning ceremony on Thursday, May 16, in The Student Union Theater. Maj. General Edmond M. Brown, Chief of Staff at the United States Army Futures Command in Austin, Texas. served as the keynote speaker for the ceremony.
蜜桃APP Awards 26 Seniors the Engaged Citizen Medal
The Center for Community Engagement, Learning, and Leadership (CCELL), in conjunction with 蜜桃APP Campus Life, is pleased to announce that 26 seniors will graduate with the Engaged Citizen distinction for Spring 2024. Students were recognized and awarded medals in a ceremony on Tuesday, May 14 on the 蜜桃APP campus.

蜜桃APP Provost's Fund Invests $1.2 Million in Highly Competitive Research Teams
In a second round of Big Idea seed grants, the largest internal funding program in 蜜桃APP history, the Provost鈥檚 Fund for Innovation in Research is investing $1.2 million in 15 interdisciplinary research teams. Aligned with 蜜桃APP鈥檚 Scholarship First Agenda, the teams and their projects aim to solve pressing problems in Louisiana and everywhere.
