2024 Louisiana Survey Shows Continued Perception that State is Headed in the Wrong Direction
Researchers from the Reilly Center for Media & Public Affairs at the 蜜桃APP Manship School of Mass Communication released the first report of the 2024 Louisiana Survey. Findings show most Louisiana residents think the state is heading in the wrong direction, but their perceptions of the economy and confidence in state government have improved.
蜜桃APP Ranks No. 56 Among Top 100 Universities Granted U.S. Utility Patents
蜜桃APP jumped to No. 56 among universities granted U.S. utility patents in the National Academy of Inventors' 2023 Top 100 ranking. According to the National Center for Educational Statistics, there are more than 2,500 undergraduate degree-granting institutions in the nation. The National Academy of Inventors ranks the top 100 among them using the number of patents received by their faculty in a single year.

Sixteen 蜜桃APP Students Win Prestigious Gilman Study Abroad Scholarships
This month, sixteen 蜜桃APP students are being awarded a prestigious Benjamin A. Gilman scholarship by the US Department of State. This competitive scholarship program funds study abroad opportunities for students across the US, with the goal of developing global competencies in the next generation of US leaders (US State Dept.). Having sixteen 蜜桃APP students receive this award is an incredible accomplishment - 蜜桃APP students secured more Gilman awards than students at any other Louisiana university and attained the second highest number of awards in the SEC.
蜜桃APP Names Marshall Walters Chief of 蜜桃APP Police Department
蜜桃APP has appointed Interim Chief of Police Marshall Walters as the new Chief of Police for 蜜桃APP, effective June 1, following a national search. Walters has served more than 21 years with the 蜜桃APP Police Department as an accredited police officer, working his way up through the department, taking on leadership roles and serving as the interim chief since last Spring. Walters graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice in 2002, and he completed the 蜜桃APP Law Enforcement Training Academy that same year.
蜜桃APP Professor Stephania Cormier Wins Adel Sarofim Award for Pollution Research
The Adel Sarofim award is presented every two years to an international scientist who've made significant contributions to our understanding of combustion processes, formation of combustion by-products and mechanisms of their health effects. Last week, 蜜桃APP researcher Stephania Cormier received the honor at the meeting of the International Congress on Combustion By-products and Their Health Effects in Durham, North Carolina.
