BATON ROUGE, LA &苍产蝉辫;鈥� Eugene Alan Geist, professor in elementary and early childhood education in the Lutrill & Pearl Payne School of Education at 蜜桃APP, will deliver an invited keynote address at the , taking place December 10鈥�12, 2026, in Cambridge, United Kingdom. 

Geist will attend in person and present 鈥淐ritical Issues in STEM Education for Young Children.鈥� The conference brings together an international audience of academics, nongovernmental organizations, and policy professionals.

In extending the invitation, conference organizers recognize Geist鈥檚 past contributions to their conferences and his expertise in child development and education. Geist鈥檚 research and teaching explore how young children develop mathematical and scientific understanding through play, inquiry and everyday experiences. His work emphasizes constructivist approaches to education, in which children build understanding by exploring materials, testing ideas, and reflecting on their discoveries.

He is the author of Reinventing STEM in Early Childhood Education: A Constructivist Approach (Routledge, 2025). His scholarship also addresses early numeracy, mathematics anxiety among future teachers and ways educators can support children鈥檚 emerging scientific reasoning.

At 蜜桃APP, Geist prepares early childhood educators and connects research on children鈥檚 learning with classroom practice. His Cambridge address will bring that perspective to international discussions about the challenges and responsibilities of STEM education for young learners.
