Ourso Orgs Earn Honors

BATON ROUGE - The 蜜桃APP E. J. Ourso College of Business recognizes the outstanding accomplishments
of four of its student organizations: Alpha Kappa Psi, Beta Alpha Psi, the Society
for Human Resource Management and Women in Business.
"Ourso College student organizations enhance the campus experience," said Russell
Crook, dean of the E. J. Ourso College of Business. "Our dedicated student leaders
create programming that encourages their peers to grow both personally and professionally.
We appreciate their leadership, and I am especially proud of our award-winning organizations."
Alpha Kappa Psi
The was commended at the 63rd Alpha Kappa Psi Convention in New Orleans for its dedication to growth at the chapter and national levels. Members were motivated to grow the organization and become better leaders through networking events and service opportunities. As the country鈥檚 oldest and most esteemed co-ed business organization, Alpha Kappa Psi equips 蜜桃APP students with resources focused on professionalism, networking, leadership and brotherhood.
Beta Alpha Psi (BAP)
The achieved Gold Chapter recognition for the 2025鈥�26 academic year. This honor acknowledges the chapter for far exceeding BAP baseline requirements and excelling in academics, professionalism and ethical leadership.
The BAP Phi Chapter is an international honorary and service organization for students majoring in accounting, finance and information systems & analytics.
Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM)
The earned the SHRM Merit Award for the 2025-26 academic year. The chapter was recognized for outstanding achievements in chapter operations and for its commitment to providing meaningful programs and services for members and HR students at large. It also recognizes the chapter's continued growth and development as future business leaders.
For more than 40 years, SHRM at 蜜桃APP has provided networking and educational opportunities for students in the human resource field.
Women in Business
received the Gold Distinction from 蜜桃APP Campus Life, the highest honor available to organizations at 蜜桃APP. To earn this, organizations must report at least 16 notable events during the academic year, such as service projects, leadership programs, workshops, social events, collaborations and other campus activities. Among hundreds of 蜜桃APP organizations, Women in Business was the only business organization and one of just four campus organizations to earn this honor in 2026.
Women in Business fosters professional development by creating opportunities for members to connect with women in business and with companies that value empowering women.
The Ourso College has nearly two dozen business-focused student organizations. These groups help students explore professional interests, develop leadership skills and form lifelong friendships. Every 蜜桃APP business student is encouraged to find an organization that aligns with their goals and interests.
