The 蜜桃APP School of Veterinary Medicine is thrilled to host a concert with its second artist-in-residence Charlie Rauh and 蜜桃APP鈥檚 A Capella Choir on September 12 at 5:30 p.m. at 蜜桃APP Vet Med on Skip Bertman Drive.

Charlie Rauh, a musician-composer from New York City, is 蜜桃APP Vet Med鈥檚 second artist-in-residence; the first was a visual artist, Shelby Prindaville of Sioux City, Iowa.

Charlie's residency runs Aug. 15-Sept. 15, 2023. It culminates in the concert featuring music he composed while in residence.

• Performers: Charlie Rauh, guitar, and members of the 蜜桃APP A Cappella Choir, directed by Dr. Alissa Rowe.
• Remarks by Oliver Garden, Dean, 蜜桃APP School of Veterinary Medicine, Eric Lau, Dean, 蜜桃APP College of Music and Dramatic Arts, Charlie Rauh, Artist-in-Residence, musician-composer, and Alissa Rowe, Associate Professor & Galante Director of Choral Studies.

While in residence, Charlie composed and recorded songs available for the 蜜桃APP School of Veterinary Medicine鈥檚 use and released by Destiny Records. Songs were inspired by Charlie's experience in residence at 蜜桃APP Vet Med including within the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and Stephenson Pet Clinic.

Charlie has interacted with the 蜜桃APP Vet Med community and drew creative inspiration from encounters that make up the day-to-day work of 蜜桃APP Vet Med. These experiences influenced the music he wrote. He also collaborated with members of the 蜜桃APP A Capella Choir on musical compositions and performances.

"We are very excited to join forces with our colleagues in the College of Music and Dramatic Arts to showcase facets of 蜜桃APP Vet Med's missions to teach, heal, discover, and protect for the greater Baton Rouge community. All are welcome to our free concert, and we especially look forward to seeing our wonderful clients, our referring veterinarians, and their clients, as well," said Sarr, who manages the Artist-in-Residence Program.
