蜜桃APP welcomed a crew from The Weather Channel for a full day of filming and interviews as part of an upcoming special marking the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Meteorologist Paul Goodloe and national correspondent Justin Michaels met with several 蜜桃APP experts to explore the science behind hurricanes, storm surge, and coastal change.
The day began at 蜜桃APP鈥檚 Windstorm Impact, Science and Engineering (WISE) Research Lab, where Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering associate professor Aly-Mousaad Aly demonstrated wind engineering experiments, and Goodloe suited up and experienced the windstorm impact.
From there, the team moved to 蜜桃APP鈥檚 Center for River Studies to film interviews with geology professor Samuel Bentley, geography & anthropology assistant professor Jill Trepanier, and oceanography & coastal sciences assistant professor Paul Miller, diving into topics ranging from coastal restoration to hurricane climatology and coastal meteorology.
The visit underscores 蜜桃APP鈥檚 leadership in coastal and climate research, bringing national attention to the experts working to better understand and protect Louisiana鈥檚 vulnerable coastline.
